During the 2018 World Cup, Japanese and Nigerian fans tidied their stands until they were spotless.
While you can, get out with the right gear and clean up a spot of land near where you live.
What difference does it make?
2,000,000 pieces of litter are dropped in the UK every day. Picking it up means it doesn't end up in the soil or sea and doesn't harm any animals.
What do you need?
- Gloves
- Bin bags
- Litter grabber (optional)
Step by step
Find somewhere where there's lots of litter and get picking! Don't forget to take photos of yourselves in action.
Make sure you put the litter in the right bins so anything that can be recycled goes to the right place. You could sort the rubbish into different bin bags to make this easier - one for paper, one for plastic, one for glass. If the bins are all full in your local park, take the rubbish home to dispose of it.
Need Help?
You probably won't want to spend more than an hour on this one. Unless you really get into it!
Don't worry about how big the area needs to be. Just find a patch you want to tackle and spend an hour or so.
Well, that's a very good question. No, it's not. It's the person who left the litter in the first place. But as they have moved on to other things, it's the rest of us that have to raise our game. Think of your favourite striker tracking back to defend when the back four are AWOL!
Be sure that you wear the right protective gear - masks and gloves. And if you can get hold of them, try using a litter grabber.
We searched "litter grabber" on Amazon and loads came up. There are quite a few for under a tenner. Might be a good investment to keep your patch tidy.
