Does your school have recycling bins? We often forget the importance of recycling when we're not at home, whether it's out of laziness or just the fact that there isn't a place to recycle.
Show us your (top) bins, or label a new one for the classroom!
What difference does it make?
Once something goes into the bin people lose a sense of responsibility for it - but mostly these bin bags are just brought to landfill sights all over the UK. The more landfill, the more gases emitted - so think about recycling next time. Easy as 1, 2, 3 ... Plastic, cardboard, glass...
What do you need?
- Recycling bins (one for plastic
- one for paper
- one for glass)
- Or recycling bags and normal bins
Step by step
Check if your school has recycling bins already. If they do, great! Take a picture of recycling something and complete this activity.
Oh no! they don't? Why not try getting some for the school? Or just finding some recycling bags - so the binmen know the difference. Make sure the waste collectors know you have recycling bins now.
Choose a good place for the bins, and make sure you call out any teammates who are scoring own goals by not recycling. We all need to change our ways.
Start recycling - check what can and can't be recycled. Paper, cardboard, metal and hard plastic are usual - but check your bags!
