Cambridge United are the CUP26 winners

The U’s beat some heavy opposition to win the CUP26 trophy – football’s biggest-ever climate tournament.
They performed outrageously well - pipping Lincoln City in a classic semi-final, before romping to victory against eight other finalists, including Arsenal, Fulham, Spurs and Aston Villa. Even Northampton Town, the traditional powerhouse of climate action in Planet Super League couldn’t match the Cambridge fans this time.
And not only did Cambridge United take the coveted Planet Super League trophy, their fans also won the Impact Award for having the greatest impact during CUP26. So that’s an area of forest in DR Congo the size of 1,000 football pitches is now preserved in Cambridge United’s name.
Congratulations to Northampton Town and Arsenal, who came in 2nd and 3rd place. And well done and a big thank you to all teams and everybody who took part in Planet Super League’s CUP26.
Look out for more green fun in the coming weeks!
